Blue Light Emergency Phones Bring Safety and
Peace of Mind
Help
is now only a few steps and a phone call away when an
emergency situation arises on the medical campus. In
continuing efforts to increase safety measures, the Department
of Security has installed thirteen emergency telephone
stations throughout the School of Medicine complex. The
stations are tall, green, cylinder shaped, and topped with a
blue emergency light.
Each is equipped with a one-touch call
button that will put you directly in contact with a School of
Medicine security dispatcher and activates a blue strobe light on
the unit. Other than a security emergency, the phones may
be used to request services such as contacting an officer when you encounter car trouble,
to report suspicious activity, or when you require a security
escort. The phones are not intended for routine
information or directions. Keep an eye out for more details on this
new service in the September issue of the faculty/staff
newsletter. For a map with locations of the emergency phone
stations, visit
