Hazardous Spills
Any major spill of a hazardous substance must be reported
immediately, to the Security Department at (305) 243-6000.
Security personnel will notify the appropriate entities
(Physical Plant, Environmental Health & Safety, or the Fire
Department) as required.
Personnel on site should be evacuated from the affected
area at once. Security personnel will seal off the contaminated area to prevent
further contamination until the arrival of trained
responders.
Persons who may be contaminated are to:
- Use emergency showers and eye wash
stations if needed.
- Seek medical attention immediately.
- Avoid contact with others.
- Alert security/emergency personnel of injury.
