Commander Center - Rumor Control
In the event of a
civil disturbance, storm, or any other disaster, communication will
become one of the most critical elements. A command center will be used
to disseminate accurate information and insure that inquiries and rumors
are dealt with appropriately.
The command center,
staffed by rumor control operators, will have the latest official
information regarding work, class, clinics, and hospital schedules.
Information generated from the command center will come directly from
University officials and will have been reviewed and approved by the
Dean. Anyone receiving conflicting information should contact the rumor
control hotline at (305) 243-6079 or e-mail the
Command Center.
Information from the
command center supersedes information from the media.
The School of
Medicine will be operating on a regular schedule unless told otherwise
by a supervisor and confirmed by the command center
